Published by Dave January 20th, 2009 in Announcements and Articles. 0 CommentsFiat has agreed to a strategic global alliance with Chrysler LLC. Fiat hopes to market Alfa Romeos and the new Fiat 500 here in the USA with domestic production. Chrysler hopes to get access to the excellent small car technology and know how created by Fiat.
Gillett Evernham Motorsports and Petty Enterprises have merged into Richard Petty Motorsports.
Kasey Kahne will drive the #9, Elliott Salder will race the#19. Reed Sorensen will race the iconic #43 and the #10 car becomes the #44 to be driven part time by A.J. Allmendinger. No beer sponsors will appear on the #43 and #44 cars and Petty Blue will appear somewhere. Heres to wishing the merged team the best of luck. Hopefully they can get one of the four cars in the chase.

The Future is Electric
Published by Dave January 13th, 2009 in Announcements, Concepts and News. 0 CommentsAt the 2009 North American Intrnational Auto Show Chrysler LLC stated again that their future is electric, at least partially. In addition to the extended range Chrysler Town and Country and extended range 2wd Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, Chrysler also showed off and extended range FWD Jeep Patroit. All three vehicles can run for 40 miles on pure electric power. After that a small gasoline engine starts up to charge the batteries making the vehicle and extended range electric. All three have an approximate range of 400 miles of constant driving between fill ups.
Also shown was the Dodge Circuit EV. An all electric 2 seat sports car. With 0 to 60 times in the sub 5 second catagory and quarter mile times in the low 13’s this Dodge will be right at home on the track…or circuit. With advanced lithium ion battery technology Chrysler LLC expects to get 150-200 miles per charge on the light weight vehicle. It can be charged on a standard 110v or 220v outlet.
More to come.
