Dodge Police Vehicles

I am excited….and a little scared too. I saw my first Dodge Charger police vehicle today and I was scared. Maybe it’s the Dodge Styling, or knowing that that Hemi under the hood will

paul101

bring that Charger to 60mph in 6 or so seconds or maybe it’s because Crown Vics are kinda associated with the ‘older generation’ of people…but who knows. Anyway here are the specs from fleet.chrysler.com’s website:

The ultimate Police Car

  • Best in class performance (Braking, Acceleration, Overall Track Times) (1)
  • Only police car available with standard Electronic Stability Program with 3 modes: Normal, Minimal, and Disabled
  • More available horsepower and torque then either the Ford Crown Victoria or the Chevy Impala
  • Larger standard tires then either the Ford Crown Victoria or Chevrolet Impala for better road contact

This is based off of the Michigan State Police and LA County testing of these vehicles.

Here are some recent articles of police agencies purchasing these vehicles:
San Carlos Police, CA
Woodbury Police, NY

Dodge Charger in action with a motorcycle chase reaching 140mph!
Colorado KKTV

Wow, I almost want to get pulled over by one of these vehicles just to check it out! Ok, then again maybe not.

Hey Brian, Take it easy out there. We all know how you like to speed on your way to/from Vegas.
