Dodge Motorsports contest winners descend on Las Vegas for 2011 NASCAR Champion’s Week
NASCAR Champion’s Week is quickly becoming one of the hottest tickets on the Las Vegas strip. Since its debut, the year-end event has grown to become a favorite among fans and drivers alike. However, unless you’re a driver or team member, tickets to the event are nearly impossible to obtain
This year, hardcore fans had the opportunity to win a trip to the star-studded event by entering to win at Dodge Motorsports events late in the NASCAR season. Thousands entered, but just two lucky fans were selected to attend.
To call the season historic would be an understatement. For the first time in NASCAR history, two drivers ended up tied for the season title. A tiebreaker was needed to determine the champion. Tony Stewart won the race with Carl Edwards finishing second, leaving the two deadlocked with 2,403 points each. NASCAR’s tiebreaker is most wins during the season. Stewart held the advantage, 5-1. All five wins came in the 10-race Chase.
Richard Burch – the first of two winners – entered at the Phoenix race in November. “We wouldn’t have missed it for the world,” said Richard. “This was an excellent prize package and I’m grateful to have won. I’ll be attending Champion’s Week every year from now on.”
Tracy Winter and her guest won the second all-expenses-paid trip to Las Vegas for the celebratory event. The pair had the time of their lives and look forward to attending Champion’s Week again in the future.
Both winners and their guests were given the VIP treatment, staying with drivers and teams at the Wynn resort and casino. They acquired autographs, captured photographs and mingled with the drivers throughout the week.
Dodge Motorsports is thrilled to have hosted Richard and Tracy along with their guests. With the next NASCAR season just around the corner, will you be a winner in 2012?
