NASCAR’s great research project if finally here. The Car of Tomorrow or C.O.T. will be raced this weekend at the Bristol Motor Speedway in the Food City 500. The new car features many saftey improvents and common templates so the racing “should” be even better. Dodge has chosen to race the all new Avenger in all COT races, while Chevy will race the Impala, Ford the Fusion, and Toyota the Camry. Kasey Kahne led todays qualifying until Jeff Gordon bumped him from the pole.

If you ever thought the Mini Cooper wasn’t mini enough, listen up. Last year, DaimlerChrysler announced that they’d be making the Smart ForTwo, the uber-compact car that it’s been selling in Europe for years (and more recently Canada), available to U.S. customers by 2008. Looks like they’re still on track for that.

He brought it by Friday afternoon to show it off to me. 24 hours later my cell phone…starts ringing. Auburn Hills, Mich./Stuttgart, Germany - The DaimlerChrysler Supervisory Board today approved the framework of a limited partnership to develop small vehicles between the Chrysler Group and Chery Motor Company of China. The deal is still contingent upon approval by the Chinese government, but the final pact of the framework is expected to be signed by the end of March.
